A new transport interchange is to be created after Hackney Council approved plans to build a footbridge between Hackney Central Overland Station and Hackney Downs Station.

Construction of the bridge is due to begin later this year.

Transport for London estimates the walkway will boost passenger numbers and help provide smooth passage between the two hubs.

I will use it regularly, as it gives me a choice of routes.

As I believe it’s covered, it will mean I don’t get wet so often.

I think, when it is complete and the buses are adjusted to the new combined Hackney Junction station, it will be a real asset to the transport of the borough.

is this expensive project really necessary? it is a straight road between the 2. granted there are steps, but surely adding ramp access would be cheaper?
