The Hackney Citizen reaches engaged, civically-active residents right across the borough. Whether you want to put your business in front of them or you need to publish a statutory notice, here’s how to advertise with us.
Display advertising
The Hackney Citizen is an independent fortnightly newspaper, read by the people who shape and care about the borough. Every issue puts your business in front of a loyal, locally-rooted readership that values the paper and the area it covers.
We publish 26 issues a year — an annual print run of 130,000 copies, with 5,000 distributed across Hackney every fortnight, door-to-door and through cafés, shops, businesses and libraries. That’s fortnightly presence in front of your customers, all year round.
From a single insertion to a regular booking, we’ll help you find the right placement and size for your budget. For rates, availability and deadlines, get in touch for a quote.
Statutory notices & licence advertising
The Hackney Citizen is a qualifying local newspaper for the publication of statutory notices in the London Borough of Hackney. If you have a legal obligation to publish a notice in a local printed paper, you can fulfil it with us, and we provide proof of publication for your records or for the relevant authority.
We publish the following notices:
- Alcohol licence notice
- Premises licence
- Licence variation notice
- Operator’s licence notice
- Section 27 notice
- Planning notice
- Other notices
The Hackney Citizen is published fortnightly. As notices are often deadline-sensitive, please contact us as early as you can and we’ll confirm the next available publication date and the deadline for submission.
