NBH Prep School, on the edge of Regent’s Park in Camden, initiated the groups’ academic success this year, upholding its reputation for first class exam results with outstanding 11+ and 13+ performances.

Year on year, the Prep School successfully places girls and boys at some of the best schools in the UK, often with prestigious scholarship awards.

2017 saw girls and boys secure a total of sixteen scholarships and prizes across their 11+ and Common Entrance (13+) results respectively, highlighting the diverse strengths of NBH Prep School pupils and their “excellent preparation for the highly thought of senior schools that they move on to.” (School Inspection Service).

Brodie Bibby, Headteacher of North Bridge House Preparatory, said: “Once again our pupils have produced truly wonderful results!

“They have worked so hard and we have been delighted with their calm and focused approach throughout the whole process.”

August then brought a flurry of exam success for NBH Senior & Sixth Form Canonbury, Islington’s only independent senior school, as students achieved whole grades above their A-level predictions and an impressive number of new top grade 9s at GCSE.

NBH Canonbury’s Sama Aunallah gained 4 A grades at A- level, having turned three predicted B grades into three A grades.

The sixth form celebrated another year of A-level excellence with 57% A*- B grades and a significant Advanced Level Information System (ALIS) Value-Added score of 0.3.

Students therefore progressed way beyond the average rate and gained grades not only higher than their predictions, but that secured them places at their first choice Russell Group universities.

Sama Aunallah turned three predicted B grades into three A grades, excelling in English Literature, Economics and History, as well as the additional Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which is highly valued amongst Russell Group universities.

Sama: “I am over the moon to have got 4 As! I’m really looking forward to going to Manchester University to do Politics, Philosophy and Economics.”

NBH Canonbury particularly excelled in A-level English Literature with 100% A*-B grades. The school also continued its strong performance in Art with students celebrating 100% A* and A grades, including Kerem Edmonds, who entered the sixth form with a predicted C grade but actually achieved an A*!

Following its A-level success, students from both North Bridge House Canonbury and its sister Senior School in Hampstead together celebrated excellent GCSE results with an impressive total of 21 new top Grade 9s across Maths, English Language and English Literature – 8% of all NBH grades in these subjects, compared to 2.9% nationally.

The school’s star performer, Francesco De Batte racked up a remarkable full set of grade 9s across the reformed subjects (one of only 2000 UK students to do this), together with A*s in all of his other GCSEs.

Jonathan Taylor, Collegiate Head of North Bridge House, said: “I am delighted with what we have achieved at both GCSE and A-level. It’s down to our passionate teaching staff and hard-working students, and I very much look forward to seeing many of our GCSE students return to us for A-levels in September.”
