A peripatetic orchestra launching this month in Hackney is hoping to attract fresh audiences to classical music.

Street Orchestra London is a ‘pop-up’ orchestra that will perform in parks, prisons, hospitals and other public locations.

The orchestra is inspired by the Riccioti ensemble from Amsterdam, whose former director has teamed up with Hackney label Nonclassical.

Street Orchestra London launches on 13 January at The Victoria, Dalston.
