Seventh man charged with murder of Hoxton teenager

A seventh man has been charged over the murder of a seventeen-year-old in Hoxton earlier this month.

Marcel Addai was chased by a gang of up to 15 people through the St John’s Estates on Pitfield Street on September 4, before being stabbed.

Police were called just after 11pm to reports of an assault and found Addai with fatal stab injuries.

David Oladimeji, 21, of Ilford, appeared in custody at Hendon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 21 September.

Rickell Rogers, 21, and Sheku Jallow, 22, both of no fixed address appeared in custody at Hendon Magistrates’ Court last Thursday and were remanded in custody before appearing at the Old Bailey on Monday.

Four men – Sodiq Adebayo, 22, of Ilford, Akeem Gbadamosi, 21, of Detmold Road, Clapton, Eugene Ocran, 19, of De Beauvoir Road, Haggerston, and Momar Faye, 18, of no fixed address, have already appeared in the Old Bailey dock last week accused of murder.

The six men are due to reappear on November 30.

Addai’s family have been left “totally devastated” by his death. In a statement his family said: “We cannot comprehend how anyone could carryout such a wicked attack.”
