Millfields Community School in Clapton has released a Christmas single to help raise £250k for a new playground.

The song, written by  Jonathan Hart, was recorded by 620 pupils at the school aged between five and 11.

Roz Wilson, Head of Music at Millfields, said: “Our kids love singing so we thought it was something we were proud of and something we could share.”

The school is oversubscribed, and plans for developing the playground have been drawn up to support the  growing number of children.

Clare Woolridge, a parent of a child at the school, said: “This has been a project where the staff, kids and parents have worked together.”

Entitled ‘C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S’, the song is available on iTunes and through Amazon with 20 per cent of the money raised going to UNICEF.
