A choir of children aged eight to 11 years old from Colvestone Primary in Dalston received a visit on 3 December from the jazz singer Joe Stilgoe, who accompanied them at a special Christmas concert for charity.

The choir performed for the first time outside their school at The Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts’ Christmas Concert at Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square, on Monday 9 December.

The repertoire for the night included ‘Once in Royal David’s City’, with seven-year-old Nova Glyn picked by Stilgoe to sing the first verse at the start of the concert, which to be broadcast on Classic FM on Christmas Eve.

The concert raised funds for charity Children and the Arts and was a celeb-studded occasion, including readings from Brian Blessed and Penelope Wilton.
