A Haggerston school achieved national recognition for its student outcomes.
The Bridge Academy was awarded a SSAT (Schools, Students and Teachers Network) Educational Outcomes Award having been placed in the top 10 per cent of non-selective schools in the country for student attainment at the end of key stage four exams last year.
It is the second year in a row that the school has won such an award.
Chris Brown, the school’s principal, said: ‘’It is fantastic to receive an award from SSAT for a second year in a row.
“This is testament to the hard work and commitment of our students and the dedication of our staff. We are hugely proud of this achievement”.
Schools receive awards based on analysis from SSAT’s Educational Outcomes Database, combining data from the Department of Education (DfE) and Ofsted.
This allows the network to compare performance across state schools nationwide.
SSAT’s chief executive, Sue Williamson, commented: “Congratulations to The Bridge Academy on winning an SSAT Educational Outcomes Award.
“This success is down to the superb learning and teaching, outstanding support and inspirational leadership of staff.
“You have made a huge difference to the lives of the young people in your school. Thank you”.
