A fundraiser has been launched to help with the funeral costs for local musician Adrian Owusu, who sadly passed away last month.

Owusu, known as ‘Ade Blues’, was a busker and a band member of The Heliocentrics.

He also played with musicians including Paloma Faith, Orlando Julius, Mulatu Astatke, and countless others.

The fundraiser was started by Jake Ferguson, Owusu’s Heliocentrics bandmate and former chief executive of Hackney CVS.

He paid tribute to Owusu, calling him an “all round good guy”, and an “amazing musician and human being who was loved by so many”.

Ferguson wrote: “The Heliocentrics want to honour him with a great send-off and have set up this fundraiser to support Adrian’s family with the funeral costs.

“Any money not used will go to the charity Core Arts in Hackney to support musicians facing mental health challenges.”
