A former Hackney councillor has been acquitted of sexually assaulting a child.
Lee Laudat-Scott, 49, had been charged with intentionally touching a boy aged under 13 and sexually assaulting a man.
He was found not guilty of both offences at a trial at Snaresbook Crown Court on 23 May.
Laudat-Scott was a Labour councillor for London Fields and had been recently elected as the borough’s deputy Speaker when he resigned on 13 July last year. He also sat on the children and young people’s scrutiny commission.
He was charged by police just four days after quitting the Town Hall, and was quickly suspended by the Labour party.
