EcoACTIVE Education, a local environmental education charity, is inviting residents to a summer fun day in Daubeney Fields, Homerton, on 21 July from 1-3pm.

To celebrate the “Access to Nature Daubeney Fields” project, funded by Heritage Lottery Fund, EcoACTIVE has organised an afternoon of entertainment and activities for everyone to enjoy.

Since September 2017, the project has enabled 250 residents to explore their local park, learning about wildlife and connecting to nature.

The fortnightly events have seen participants enjoy learning to make their own pencils, how to build and install bird boxes and making and enjoying their own pressed apple juice.

The bioblitz weekend in June saw adults, young people and families take part in a bioblitz, using wildlife guides and equipment to record more than 40 species of plants and animals living in Daubeney Fields.

To celebrate the “Access to Nature” project and as part of London National Park City week, EcoACTIVE is welcoming everyone to Daubeney Fields from 1-3pm on 21st July to enjoy refreshments and a range of activities.

The afternoon will include creative workshops, building giant animal kites, making your own herbal tea with Hackney Herbal, henna artists and more…

You can even have a go at making your own smoothie using the smoothie bike and win a prize in our nature competition.

Pop along any time and find out more here.
