Hackney Citizen wins acclaim at illustrious Newsawards ceremony
The Hackney Citizen has received a commendation in the prestigious Newsawards 2017.
The judges in this national competition praised the Citizen’s “excellent design with quality content and first-class printing”.
The accolade in the ‘niche market newspaper of the year’ category was announced at last night’s gala award ceremony in central London.
This is the third time the Citizen has been recognised in this way, having received commendations also in 2011 and 2014.
The newspaper’s founding editor, Keith Magnum, said: “I am so proud of what the Citizen has accomplished over the course of the past nine years; we continue to go from strength to strength, as this award shows.
“We’re grateful to all those who have helped make this happen, in particular to our loyal readers and advertisers.”
With such an award, could editor Keith Magnum, please explain how he let ‘Pet hate: Stoke Newington animal rescue boss denies misusing donations’ by Max Eckersley, be published? Just read the comments/replies left by Remi Makinde, the woman whose allegations he writes about, to understand what type of person she is.Very bad journalism and article, spreading suspicions on a group of hard-working volunteers. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Myriam Lengliné do shut the f**k up. …[Deleted by moderator following a complaint].
Now deal with it. Why is she refusing free help from an accountant in her group to help her publish a breakdown of donations? Why does she block members who question her?
Now that, that is libel. Right there.
