Police are appealing for help as they continue their search for a 14-year-old girl who has been missing for over a week.

Shai Morgan visited her grandmother in the Victoria Park area on the evening of 13 July and told her she would not be returning to her foster parents’ home in Waltham Forest. Her family has not seen her since.

A teacher then spotted the former Cardinal Pole student outside the school at around 3.30pm on Tuesday 19 July.

Police are concerned that Shai may be exploited by people she is known to associate with in the borough.

She is white, 5ft 6ins tall and of medium build with shoulder length dark brown hair. She is known to frequent the Victoria Park and Wick Road neighbourhoods.

Detective Inspector Paul Ridley is appealing for the public’s help: “Shai is a vulnerable young female who left her home address without any personal belongings or change of clothes.

“Officers are dedicated to locating her, but I urgently require assistance from the public who may have seen her. She is not in any trouble; my sole priority is locating and re-uniting her with concerned family,” he said.
