The Strongroom American Beer Festival is back, and bigger than ever!

Growing year on year since 2010, the Strongroom American Beer Festival has gained a reputation for being the place to go to sample beers imported from across the USA, bringing the taste of the US to you!
For this year’s Festival, Strongroom is pulling out all the stops. There’s a range of beers from over 50 breweries, American wine, cider, bourbon, authentic moonshine, and a week packed full of fantastic events every day from 27th June, finishing off with a huge INDEPENDENCE DAY party on Sunday 3rd July.
On Monday 27th, Sierra Nevada will be kicking off the week with a free talk through their range of full-flavoured all-American hop-led ales. Started as a home brew operation in the ’70s, Sierra Nevada has grown to be one of the best regarded US breweries around. Head down to learn what makes them so special.
Then on Tuesday 28th, Strongroom plays host to a talk and taste event where, for just £25, you’ll get three courses of Southern style Memphis cooking from Porky’s BBQ, matched with 3 very special Brooklyn Beers, including some new releases and very limited editions.
Strongroom is celebrated for its huge range of whiskies – and their Whisky Wednesday Masterclasses are your way to tap into the brands that you might not know so well. To tie in with the USA theme, the masterclass on Wednesday 29th is all about US Bourbon, and the infamous American Boilermaker. For just £10 you’ll get to taste a range of Bourbon, learn the history behind these tipples, and then Left Coast Distribution will help you to pair this with their beers to create the ultimate boilermaker!
In 1887, a Revolution in beer began in the basement of the Rogue Public House in Oregon, and Rogue will be taking over Strongroom’s taps on Thursday – come hear the full story and taste the delights!
Friday 1st July kicks off the final few days of the American Beer Fest, and it’s time to party with the Known Pleasures guys back on the decks, playing an all-American set! Get those dancing boots on!
On Saturday 2nd July, there’s the fantastic Sam Beer from The Treetop Flyers, joined by special guests, playing a classic Americana set – live from 6pm. The live music is followed by a soulful strut through the ages of American funk and soul, to keep you dancing until 2am.
A day early, sure, but Strongroom is bringing the all-day Independence Day party to Shoreditch again on Sunday 3rd July! Soundtrack your day with the finest in Americana Country & Blues music – from 4 live bands and 4 of the best country, blues & Americana DJs – alongside a USA slow-roasted meat BBQ from Porky‘s, a rip roarin’ Buckin’ Bronco, USA-themed dress up in a free Photobooth (you can take home a souvenir of your day) and much, much more.
Last year there were queues right down the street so we’d advise getting down early to make sure that you take full advantage of all the fun – OR collect stamps from the breweries on show during the week and get yourself a free pass right to the front of the queue!
