Named as one of the Top 5 Caribbean restaurants in the country by Metro, Turtle Bay’s signature combination of blissful jerk, rum and reggae is something of a restaurant revolution in London with jerk shacks popping up in Walthamstow, Brixton and Ealing in the capital in the last couple of years… Now Dalston has its own slice of the action.

Food is at the heart of the Turtle Bay experience – just like it’s central to the heart and soul of Caribbean culture. An eclectic cuisine that is influenced by a rich tapestry of ethnicities, the food at Turtle Bay offers a vast choice of bold flavours and gorgeous, rustic dishes, all inspired by the laid back, social outlook of the Caribbean.  Dishes are brimming with zesty flavours and spicy hues, there’s plenty to share or dig into alone.. and they’re all designed to be perfectly complemented by a rum cocktail or 2.

The offering includes ‘Cutters’ (inspired by Beach Shacks and Street Hawkers of the Caribbean Islands  – perfect for sharing over cocktails); the Jerk BBQ Pit (which is exactly as fiery as it sounds); ‘One Pots’ (rich, slowly simmered and uniquely Caribbean) and Lunch and Light (a briefer encounter with the Caribbean).

Signature dishes include their Jerk Chicken, Jerk Prawns, Turtle Bay Patties, Trini Doubles and Curry Goat.

This is fuss-free soul food…

The central island bar, and indoor ‘veranda’ style drinking spaces mean that those who just want to just enjoy Turtle Bay’s incredible cocktail menu can do so without dining too… (although we recommend a beach platter to graze over!).The rum collection at Turtle Bay is something behold with over Caribbean 40 behind the bar.  The range takes in the full breadth of the Caribbean – from Mount Gay’s Bajan to Appleton Estate’s Jamaican rum, and everything in between, all at the same price!

The now legendary, Turtle Bay happy hour lasts from 11.30am – 7pm and then starts up again at 10pm! ALL of their cocktails available at 2 for 1 during that time – it’s a must for cocktail lovers and rum enthusiasts all week long.

So, drop into Turtle Bay for lunch, dinner or cocktails at Dalston Square, Dalston Square, behind Dalston Junction, London, E8 3GP. The restaurant’s open from 11:30-23:00 and Fri-Sat 11:30-23:30
