Over £7,000 raised for funeral of Greek cyclist killed in Homerton
Over £7,000 has been raised to repatriate the body of a Greek cyclist killed on Homerton High Street.
Akis Kollaros, was a 34-year-old music producer and member of cycling club London Dynamo who lived in Dalston.
He was killed when his bike collided with a tipper truck on 2 February at the junction of Homerton High Street and Mcintosh Lane.
The funding page was set up by Phil Jones, who write: “Akis Kollaros was taken from us in a tragic accident this week. This fund has been set up to raise money for his family to help them bring his body back to Greece. Times are tough in Greece and every penny will help them.”
Over 400 people, among them friends and cyclists, have donated to returning his body back to his family in Greece.
A vigil and ‘die in’ protest will be held tonight (9 February) at 6pm by campaign group Stop Killing Cyclists.
At the time of writing, the amount raised had reached £7,270. To donate click here.

Avoid Homerton High Street while loads of morally superior cyclists do their best to piss off everyone else by stopping traffic for hours. Well done. Great way to remember the poor fellow.
Tarquin what a nasty way to talk to the friends and family of Akis Kollaros. You have the empathy of a used tea bag.
I would dearly like to use stronger language, but unfortunately, it would not be printed, so I suggest you crawl back under the stone from where you came.
May I offer the friends and family of Akis Kollaros my deepest sympathy.
