Thank you Hackney Citizen for giving the people of Hackney, the opportunity to discuss the future of our borough, under a new Mayoral period.
I hope that all the candidates have taken on board many of the issues discussed.
There is clearly a need for the Council along with other partners to provide a safe space for the young LGBT community within our borough.
Hackney may well have paid a nice tidy fee to Stonewall to produce a report stating that they are one of the best employers in the country, but frankly this means absolutely nothing to our LGBT community unless it is followed up by good constructive delivery of services to our LGBT community.
I wish the candidates my sincere thanks for attending today, but if we are to have a future for Hackney that represents the whole community, then we have to do justice to our young and old LGBT community. by providing the necessary services and not just rhetoric. Well done Hackney Citizen..
