Three arrested after teenage girl shot dead in Hackney Wick

Three men have been arrested after a teenage girl, believed to be aged about 15, was shot dead in Hackney Wick.

Police were called shortly before 4pm yesterday following the shooting of of the girl at an address in Eastway, E9.

An ambulance and London’s Air Ambulance were called but the girl was declared dead at the scene.

The police say they believe they know the identity of the dead girl and have informed her family. Formal identification is expected to follow.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

Detectives from Homicide & Major Crime Command are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

The three males arrested were taken to an east London police station where they remain in custody.
