Appeal after man dies following stabbing in Stoke Newington

A man, believed to be in his 20s, has died after being stabbed in a street in Stoke Newington.

Emergency services were called shortly after 11:30am today (Monday) to reports of a man suffering stab injuries in Marton Road.

Police and the London Ambulance Service attended and the man was taken to an east London hospital.

He was later pronounced dead.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said next of kin have not yet been informed and enquiries to trace them are underway.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command has been informed.

The Met Police added: “At this early stage it is believed that the victim was stabbed in nearby Oldfield Road but got in his car and left the scene, pulling over in Marton Road where he was initially treated before going to hospital.”

Any witnesses or anyone with any information is being urged to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

No arrests have been made.
