Hackney police issue new appeal in search for missing Anieka Edwards

Hackney police have issued a renewed appeal for help to find a “very vulnerable” 13-year-old girl who has been missing for two weeks.

Anieka Edwards was last seen on Tuesday 16 July at 8pm on Walford Road, Stoke Newington.

She is described as black, 5ft tall of stocky build and has both her ears pierced.

When last seen, she was wearing a Haggerston School uniform comprising of a grey skirt, white shirt and dark green blazer with a bright green trim.

Detective Sergeant Paul Ridley from Hackney CID is requesting assistance to trace her.

He said: “Anieka is a very vulnerable female and has been away from home for two weeks. I would urge members of the public to look closely at her photograph and for any sightings to contact police. She could be at various locations across the capital.”

Police say it is believed she may be travelling on London buses.

Anyone with information about Anieka’s whereabouts is asked to call police on the non-emergency line 101.

Updated on Wednesday 14 August at 2pm: Anieka Edwards has now been found safe and well, police have confirmed.
