Hackney killing: woman found dead after abduction

Police have launched a murder investigation after a woman died of stab wounds in an abandoned car in Hackney.

Officers believe she was abducted from an address in the borough by a knifeman who also attacked two others and who remains at large.

Police discovered the woman, believed to be aged 20, in an abandoned Fiat Stilo in Ryder Mews, Homerton, at 8:30am today (Monday). She was pronounced dead soon afterwards.

Though formal identification awaits it is believed she was abducted from Brownlow Road, Haggerston, where officers had earlier been called to a disturbance at a residential address.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course and detectives from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command are investigating.

Police said a 22-year-old man and a 24-year old woman were taken to hospital with stab wounds shortly after 7am today.

The former is in a stable condition. The latter is being treated for minor injuries.

The suspect is believed to have taken a woman with him when he fled the scene in a grey Fiat Stilo.

Police have released no description of suspect but say enquiries are ongoing to trace him.

No arrests have been made.
