Artisan handmade market
A new market selling traditional hand-made items has launched recently in Victoria Park. The market, which is held at the Britannia Pub on the last Saturday of every month, features goods produced by local craftspeople and artists.
Hackney’s pubs are renowned for the variety of activities that take place in them, from live music and film screenings to board games and community meetings. Not many establishments can boast a treasure trove such as the Artisan market, however. The wares of painters, sculptors, photographers, textile designers, ceramicists, printers and jewellers.
The venture is the brainchild of Erin Estrada, who says :“so far the markets have been very fun – a market stall is a great place for designers to start a business, expand a business and even to get recognition for a hobby”.
The next market will be held 1-5pm on Saturday 26 February.
