Hackney residents are invited to attend local events promoting free NHS dental services.

NHS City and Hackney is running a roadshow over two days to highlight the availability of NHS dentists in the area, promote the range of treatments available and explain NHS charges and exemptions.

The events are to be held on Tuesday 15 February at the Alevi Centre, 89 Ridley Road, E8 2NH from 10am to 4pm and Wednesday 16 February, in Gillett Square, Dalston, N16 8AZ, also from 10am to 4pm.

NHS City and Hackney Deputy Director of Primary Care Commissioning Alice Benton said: “This is a great opportunity to come along and learn more about NHS dental services available in Hackney and the City. If you don’t already have a regular NHS dentist, we can help you find one that is suitable for you.

“The road show is part of a London-wide campaign to highlight the availability of NHS dentists and range of treatments available.

“We have good access to NHS dental services in Hackney and the City, but in the past some patients have found it difficult to find a dentist, to get an appointment or to get treated. This campaign helps address those concerns, plus other popular misconceptions about charges and exemptions.”

All children under 16 receive free NHS dental treatment and many adults do not have to pay either. Dental care is free if you are under 18, under 19 and in full-time education, pregnant or a mother who has given birth in the last twelve months, or receiving state benefits.
