Stoke Newington FC has welcomed some new recruits through the door, but this time they’re younger than usual. The new season sees the introduction of the Stoke Newington Youth Football Club, for pint-size players between four and eight years old.

The launch of the new team has been a very local affair, with local Italian restaurant Il Bacio Express stepping in as the sponsors for the new team’s football strip.

The youth squad, which trains at Clissold Park ((close to Queen Elizabeth Walk gate entrance) on Sunday mornings at 10am, is open to boys and girls alike who are over four and under eight years old.

Club chairman MrAndrea Rubino describes the necessary attributes for potential soccer stars as the desire to have fun, an ability to play fairly and, above all, a healthy dose of football-fever.
