Saturday 11 September

Its a bold claim, but apparently the world’s best Metallica tribute band Tribute Metallica UK are coming to The Macbeth, no doubt bringing with them a furious whirlwind of leather and hair.

Legendary drummer and member of seminal hip hop outfit The Roots, Amir ‘?uestlove’ Thompson shows how it should be done in the basement while Mr Thing and DJ Lok look after things upstairs.

Sunday 12 September

As usual, the Sunday Club keeps things bumping on the sabbath with deep house grooves, this time helped by a mysterious ‘special guest’, although frankly that could mean anyone.

We’ve all suffered from it, but this Writers’ Block features not only live bands Szjerdene, G.R.E.E.D.S and Kaana Ellie but a BBQ on top. Beat That!

Wednesday 15 September

It’s only borderline Hackney, but a new club from the mavericks behind Bugged Out is always worth a mention – confirmed acts for the launch night of XOYO include Everything Everything and Visions of Trees. DJ’s are also promised until the wee hours.

The people’s DJ Andrew Weatherall returns to The Drop with Sean Johnston in tow for this cracking monthly space-house knees-up.

Friday 17 September

Rather than a well stuffed duvet on Homerton Road, Deep Down in Hackney Wick in fact refers to one of those warehouse raves that are all the rage again these days – this one has Zongamin, In Flagranti, Deboa and Mosca at the controls.

In a tribute to the self-indulgent, week long orgies enjoyed by Roman Emperors in days of yore, Caligula welcomes Andy Blake to the decks who will emit raucous punk and bad-taste svelte rock.

What Ever Happened to P-rock? It’s been seen skulking around Hoxton at gigs like this one: A Loss For Words, LYU, March Of The Playwrite and Maycomb all jostle for position on the hallowed Macbeth stage.

Randomer headlines at Yeah, Maybe – in cahoots with residents Fife, Lex Darker and The Colonel. Expect a mixed bag of tunes from the the darker side of underground dance music.

An deep house all-dayer on a Sunday is enough to give some folk the willies, but if your brave enough Tabula Rasa is in a secret garden location in Shoreditch and has DJs Jimi Mistry & Tony S, Peter O & Chan kicking it out of a Funktion One rig.

Doner meat and dubstep is heady combination, so make sure you bring your smelling salts to the Stone Cave as Dj’s Hatchback, Seahawks, Jonny Nash and Mystic Rock serve up bass heavy medleys.
