Geisha at East Village 001Friday 4 June

It’s an a girl DJ extravaganza in Shoreditch at the Geisha launch night, featuring the globetrotting Lottie and Suzanne Rosser dropping jacking, techy-type house in the basement, while in the lounge east London scene-ster Sophie Lloyd and Naomi Williams (Girlcore) drop an eclectic array of party treats. 9pm-4am, £6 before 22.00 (£7 after), East Village, 89 Great Eastern Street.

If you thought shindig run by folk from Ninja Tune and Vice would be musically both diverse and dirty, you’d be right – guest DJs spin an at times alarming mixture of metal, grime, electro and easy listening at this monthly soiree. 7pm-2am, The Macbeth, 70 Hoxton Street.

Feel like your on your holidays already by listening to the afro-Columbian rumblings of Pollito Boogaloo (trans: little dancing chicken) ably supported Cumbé, at the bohemian art space that is Passing Clouds. Break out your Cuban heels for the monthly Disco Bloodbath knees-up. Although foolish to anticipate too much about these parties, its fair to expect a smorgasbord of uplifting music, a basement venue and some truly shocking facial hair. 10pm-5.30am, Secret Dalston Location E8.

Like the Hacienda in its pomp, Shame offers goose-bump inducing big room 90’s house, straight off the platters of rising star Rachel Barton, house supremo Nockall, Jimmy Hickmott and the Brit Pop soundsystem. Reach for the lasers… 9pm-3am, Free, The Alibi, 91 Kingsland High Street.

Sunday 6 June

If you want to squeeze a last drop of fun out of the weekend you could do a lot worse than check cult reggae icon David Rodigan (20.00 – 22.00) bringing dub plate pressure alongside Ashley Beedle and Afrikan Simba. Tuesday 8 June

Stars of the Land of Kings festival, Hackney Colliery Band, return to the borough for a night of heavyweight funk hosted by the Wah Wah 45s.

Thursday 10 June

Friday 11 June

A good looking line up on show at Power Station; Tom Furse of The Horrors, Complexxion, blogger/DJ Nik Nik Nik and 80’s south London electro legend DJ Data. Musically it’s a bollywood funk, minimal new wave synth pop mash up. Mercy 9pm-3am, Free, The Alibi, 91 Kingsland High Street.

More Latin style Tomfoolery at the Havana Cultura: Remixed Launch Party. Mr World Music himself, Gilles Peterson, drops hot joints with back up from Seji and the Sofrito Sound System to celebrate the release of this re-rub album. 2pm-12.30am, £6 advance (£8 on the door), East Village, 89 Great Eastern Street.

Different class radio presents a couple of intriguing sounding bands; The Paris Riots are a dark, brooding Manchester outfit, while Bleeding Heart Narrative come classed as an evolving autumnal orchestra. 8pm – late, £5, Barden’s Boudoir, 36 Stoke Newington Road.

Saturday 12 June

Highly rated newcomers to the London scene Endurance take to the Kingsland Road for some industrial electronic body music and other sub-genres. Founder Chris Flatline, Pony-Girl, LVR and Unaesthetic on the ones and twos. 9pm-3am, Free, The Alibi, 91 Kingsland High Street.

Stoke Newington’s newest basement nitespot hosts Say Yes!!! featuring DJ’s Nadia Ksabia and Rory Phillips. Look forward to an eyebrow raising blend of party jams, robot house, arpeggiated italo and krautrock. 11pm-4am, £5, 175 Stoke Newington High Street (below three Crowns). 020 7241 5511.

Saturday 19 June

Yeah, Maybe, featuring Randomer (Fat! Records) and residents Fife & Lex Darker returns to The Alibi for another round of UK funky, Bmore, new jack, hip-hop and so on. Those who endured some of the sweatboxes at this venue last month will be pleased to hear that they have now fitted air con on the dance floor for the clement summer months. 9pm-3am, Free, The Alibi, 91 Kingsland High Street.

The Creative Control Coalition Launch party at The New Empowering Church will be offering up a beat sacrifice provided by some of London’s leading independent labels. In a desperate bid for revival, a cartel of independent promoters unleash Tasha Haus, the long lost identical twin sister of 1940s ‘B’ movie actress Ann Savage, frozen cryogenically by Churchill in 1944 to prevent the Nazis stealing her party secrets. An intriguing mixture of film and music at Switchblade; cult surfer flick Endless Summer rolls first, before the floor is cleared for ‘inflammatory sets’ from DJs Douglas Hart (The Jesus and Mary Chain), Dr. Infaktas and Louise x (Primal Scream).
