Hackney Enterprise Network (HEN) is run by HBV Enterprise on behalf of Hackney Council and offers tailored support and advice designed to help local entrepreneurs to make new contacts, as well as grow and fund their businesses.

The evening of business to business networking will include opportunities to talk to representatives from major organisations, including Hackney Council, about becoming a supplier.

Speakers include the Mayor of Hackney Jules Pipe; the partnerships manager at the City of London Corporation; and the operations director at Carillion, which is building the 2012 media centre on the Olympic Park.

Support from HEN includes business to business networking events, business skills workshops, advice on enterprise growth, help getting loans and small grants, advice for businesses hit by the economic crisis, and access to business information and initiatives from central government.

Mayor Jules Pipe said, “Small and medium sized businesses and entrepreneurship are at the heart of Hackney’s local economy.

“In these tough economic times, the council is pleased to provide additional support to local businesses through the Hackney Enterprise Network, which offers networking opportunities, funding advice, and a range of other services to increase the competitiveness of local business,”

Richard Abbott, Chief Executive of HBV Enterprise, said, “We aim to make Hackney Enterprise Network the gateway to all the right connections for Hackney’s businesses. This couldn’t come at a better time for local businesses looking to survive and grow.”

Businesses can register their interest in attending the Hackney Enterprise Network (HEN) launch event by phone: 020 7241 7066, or e-mail: hen@hbv.org.uk
