Get involved in improving Hackney’s health and social care services

Hackney Local Involvement Network (LINk) is a new statutory organisation which aims to get local people involved in improving health and social care services in Hackney.

Hackney LINk has the power to hold to account and to monitor the commissioners of local health and social care services, as well as local hospitals, GPs’ surgeries, clinics and care homes. It is independent of Hackney Council and statutory health organisations.

Through interactive displays, the launch event on Saturday 9 May will give Hackney citizens an opportunity to find out about Hackney LINk and how it can enable them to have a say and to influence developments and improvements to Hackney’s health and social care services.

Hackney LINk is seeking local people’s views to enable it  to start identifying the issues which are most important for the people of Hackney. There will also be the opportunity to sign up as a member of Hackney LINk, to become more involved and to work on issues where local people would like to see change.

Shirley Murgraff, the Chair of Hackney LINk, said: “We are delighted to be making ourselves known to Hackney’s citizens after a year’s hard preparatory work.

“We want as many people and community groups as possible to use the launch to sign up to membership of Hackney LINk so that they can be kept informed about what, with their help, we will be doing – which is to influence the improvement of our Health and Social Care services by being involved at decision-making levels. ”

For more information on the launch or to become a member, please contact Hackney LINk on tel: 020 7275 2743, email info@hackneylink.org.uk.

A new website will also be launched on 27th April www.hackneylink.org.uk
