Hackney Council is letting residents know that the two testing sites in the borough now accept walk-ups.

The announcement comes after locals found it difficult to book tests online, with public health director Dr Sandra Husbands warning that ‘errors’ in the online booking system were sending residents far afield, with some being told no bookings or home test kits were available.

Locals are advised that if they are unable to book a coronavirus test online or by calling 119, they can visit one of the local government-run testing sites in Hackney and get tested without booking an appointment.

There are two testing sites in Hackney: Bentley Road car park, Dalston, N1 4DB (open 8am – 8pm seven days a week) and Yesodey Hatorah School Egerton Road, N16 6UB (13, 27, 29, 30 September and 1, 18 and 25 October 10.30am-3.30pm).
