The water had reached a level and by creating a barricade they re-directed excess water into other people’s homes and businesses as basement properties were directly beside the barrier. Additionally rendering the drains useless and overloading others.
Hi Frank, that is not accurate. The residents at Gibson Gardens were unblocking the drains with their bare hands which dramatically helped to drain the water. The barricade helped block the water to an extent but the properties nearby would have been damaged nevertheless.
