Man charged with attempted murder after detective shot in Haggerston

A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a police officer during an undercover operation in Haggerston last week.

The male officer, who has not been named, was shot in the shoulder during an intelligence led firearms operation in Scriven Street at around 12.45pm on Thursday.

Tyrone Benjamin Henry, 31, of Pheonix Close, appeared in court on Friday has also been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

He appeared at Thames Magistrates Court in Bow on Saturday 16 October
