Man stabbed in broad daylight near Hackney Central

A man was rushed to hospital yesterday after being stabbed in broad daylight near Hackney Central station.

Police were called just after 5pm to reports of a man suffering serious injuries on Amhurst Road near the junction with Malpas Road.

The victim, believed to be in his early twenties, was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

In an update this morning (22 July) a police spokesperson described his injuries as “not life threatening”.

A 21-year-old man was arrested near to the scene in connection with the incident.

He has been taken to an east London police station where he remains in custody.
