A charity has opened a new specialist centre in Dalston as part of its work with ex-offenders and efforts to break the cycle of crime.

The St Giles Trust wants to get more ex-criminals into jobs and careers and has developed a new service for those in Hackney who want to turn their backs on crime but need practical help to do so.

The charity is offering help with creating CVs, searching and applying for work, handling interviews and more general practical help to overcome any issue which might be holding someone back from resettling.

The centre is located in the Elise Centre, 24-30 Dalston Lane, E8
