Fatal collision between motorbike and car in Kingsland Road

A man has died after the motorbike he was riding at high speed was involved in a collision with a vehicle last night.
Police confirmed a 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident on Kingsland Road at the junction with Englefield Road.
Two pedestrians were also injured in the incident.
Large parts of Kingsland Road were closed to traffic for several hours last night as police teams investigated.
The collision happened close to the spot in Downham Road where moped rider Michael McGuiness, 18, died in a collision with a car just three months ago.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said:”At approximately 9:40pm on Wednesday 7 August officers on patrol in Hackney observed a motorcycle travelling at speed.
“A short time later, the motorcycle was in collision with a vehicle on Kingsland Road junction with Englefield Road, E8.
“London Ambulance Service attended. The rider, a 23-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Next of kin have been informed.
“Two pedestrians were taken to a north London hospital having sustained minor injuries.
“The Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed as is routine.
“Enquiries continue.”
