Man dies after knife attack in Stoke Newington

Detectives have appealed for information after a man was stabbed to death in Stoke Newington yesterday.

Officers found the victim, believed to be 34 years old, suffering from knife wounds after they were called to reports of an assault on Shakespeare Walk at 5.48pm.

The man was taken to an East London hospital, where he died at 11.47pm.

Police are in the process of informing his next of kin, and formal identification awaits. A post-mortem will take place in due course.

No arrests have been made so far.

Detective Inspector Paul Considine, who is heading up the investigation, said: “Our initial enquiries have established that the victim was attacked by a group outside Burns House in Shakespeare Walk and work continues to establish what the motive was behind this assault.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of Shakespeare Walk around the time of the incident to contact police and provide us with any information that could assist this investigation.”
