Welcome to the NEW NewVIc!
NewVIc has been successfully educating and inspiring young people in East London since the 1990’s and will soon be celebrating its 25th anniversary. The college boasts a successful enrichment programme, one of the most active student unions in the UK, and most recently a state of the art Learning Resource Centre and Theatre. The building will be open to the public for an Open Interview event on 21st June 4-6pm.
Innovative learning space
One of the most exciting projects for NewVIc has been creating an environment with flexible spaces and plenty of natural light to support a range of activities. These include performing, studying, working in groups as well as socialising. With 2 years of construction work, NewVIc’s glass front Learning Resource Centre, Café and Theatre have become the ‘’face’’ of the college on Prince Regent Lane.

Being London’s largest six form college with approximately 2,500 students, a wider entrance has been constructed to enable better security and management of the “tidal” flow of people entering leading into the spacious hallway called ‘the Link’. This is the hub where exhibitions and events take place.
The Café
With two college cafés serving Starbucks coffee, sandwiches and its ‘famous’ cookies which are baked on site , this new café offers a larger area to sit and socialise.
Learning Resources Centre
The LRC was designed to create space and a tranquil atmosphere for quiet and group work. Three floors of spacious study area provide different types of space for students as well as wide range of books, periodicals, DVDs and electronic media.
Like the rest of the college, the LRC offers the latest technology to access the best learning resources available including through students’ own devices; smart phones, tablets and laptops. Students are also able to lease laptops for study as well as use the LCD screens for group and project work.
The New Theatre where the action happens….
Equipped with the latest technology for special effects and sound. NewVIc’s spacious theatre is situated conveniently next to the café, this adds a contagious buzz to its social atmosphere. It’s a fun and vibrant atmosphere where students from all courses hang out.
A unique Learning experience
NewVIc’s excellent teaching, support and its environment all make ‘student learning’ an all round experience. The college’s new build and facilities will help to encourage and support all students to both work and play hard.
