Manhunt launched as baby boy dies and girl critically injured in Hackney

A manhunt has been launched following an attack at a property in Wilberforce Road (N4) in which a baby boy died and a girl sustained critical injuries.

Police were alerted at around 11pm on Saturday 18 March following a report of two children who were said to be injured at a flat in Wilberforce Road, N4.

Police and medics found a boy and girl, both aged one, with critical injuries.

The children were rushed to to an east London hospital, however the boy was pronounced dead just before 1am.

Their next of kin have been informed.

Police says the children have yet to be formally identified.

The girl is still in hospital in a critical condition.

Police are making enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

No-one has yet been arrested.
