Cyclist killed in lorry crash on Homerton High Street

A cyclist has been killed following a collision with an HGV lorry in Homerton.

The incident took place at 4.20pm yesterday at the junction with Mcintosh Lane.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a 34-year-old man suffering from critical injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short while later.

Next of kin are in the process of being informed. The driver of the HGV stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.

The cyclist is the second to die on Hackney’s roads in 2015, after 29-year-old Stephanie Turner was killed in Stamford Hill last month.
