Organisers of the weekly Chatsworth Road Market are offering budding entrepreneurs on benefits the chance to apply for a free market pitch for a month as part of a deal aimed at boosting employment.

The scheme is open to residents of the E5, E8 and E9 postcodes who are in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance, New Enterprise Allowance or Employment and Support Allowance.

Damian Patchell from Chatsworth Road Traders and Residents Association said he hoped the scheme would encourage local people to try out a new business idea completely free of charge.

The initiative has already been in place for over a month and has had over one hundred applications.
