I'm not quite sure how Hackney benefits - other than in return for spoiling Hackney Marshes, the Council will receive a nominal rent and the chance to purchase green energy from the turbine owner. It's a gimmick - a cheap joke and you and I are the punchline. The argument for the turbine is based on the false premise that the energy generated will benefit Hackney.

I’m not quite sure how Hackney benefits – other than in return for spoiling Hackney Marshes, the Council will receive a nominal rent and the chance to purchase green energy from the turbine owner.
